(Check out the rest of the photos here, on Snapfish)The ceremony was beautiful, a traditional Catholic mass with a Polish priest. Magda's family is Polish, and had many relatives from Poland in attendance. She took everyone's breath away when she came down the aisle - incredibly elegant. Steve was handsome, cool and calm...the wedding went off without a hitch! I had to smile to myself during the vows, when Steve and Magda were on the alter with Jim on one side and Magda's sister Monica on the other - Jim was the shortest one there! To give you some perspective, Jim seems pretty tall to me and my parents...all depends on who you're standing next to though! Magda, Steve and Monica and all 6 feet and up...Charlie is going to have some VERY tall cousins some day!
Actually, there was one tiny hitch in the ceremony...I was responsible for reading the prayers of the faithful, where you read the prayer and the congregation responds with "Lord hear our prayer" or something similar. I was concentrating on trying to project my voice and read very slowly (due to the volume and echoing in the church) and I guess I paused too long - everyone responded. But wait, I wasn't done! I still had a few more lines to read...Steve and Magda wrote all the intentions so I didn't want to skip anything, but I had a few seconds to decide what to do and moved right ahead. I panicked for a moment there, but I think it turned out okay. (Sorry guys!)

After the ceremony, they took pictures in the church and then hopped on a bus with the bridal party and took photos all over Detroit. We got to see some of the pictures at the reception and they are jaw dropping. I'm not exaggerating, they looked like something in a magazine. Jim and I had what we thought were nice wedding photos, but they seriously don't compare! We were joking later that we need to get married again so we can hire their photographer. Wonder if my dress would fit? ...hmmm

The reception was at the Roostertail. Great food, band, flowers, decor and even a signature cocktail, the "Wise-tini". Jim and Monica both gave great toasts. Food wise, the hit of the night were petite filets that they cooked in front of you...delish! Also good were the crab cakes, stuffed pork, pirogi and the cheesecake. Yes, I ate all that and more. No regrets! Never got around to trying the chicken, the cake or the "M" cookies, but I'm sure they were great. (Where am I? I'm getting distracted by thoughts of the food...) Anyways, we attempted to work off most of it on the dance floor later. Hopefully there is no video.

Thankfully, Charlie had a great time also. Great may be too strong of a word because he looked exhausted, but he loved the people, music, colors and craziness of it all. Friends and strangers came up to us to comment on how cute and well behaved he was, which was nice. But frankly, we were just relieved he didn't have a melt down or anything. I do have to admit that he looked pretty cute...after much wardrobe fretting, we finally got him a little blue and white seersucker suit. (Awww - seersucker makes me melt :) It was complimented nicely by a white dress shirt, blue sweater vest, orange bow tie and some great little loafers.
The funny thing was that the collar was sooo tight, the second button down just barely fit around his chubby little neck. I don't know how the bow tie stayed on. Anyway, he was a great sport about the outfit and never fussed. I realize I'm at that point in life when I couldn't remotely care what I'm wearing, as long as my baby looks cute. Weird.
So there you have it! I've probably left out some great details but it is late and this is probably too long as it is. Thanks Steve and Magda - we had a wonderful time. Happy marriage!!
