The first party was really unique due to it's setting. Owned by one of Jim's coworkers, this property can trace it's roots back to an original deed granted by the King of England and has only changed hands 3 times since the 1700's. The house was actually assembled from a few different structures over time, with the kitchen and main part (probably a tavern, 1750's) moved from Williamsburg area and later attached to the existing 1800's structure. Bordering all this are some great old boxwoods, rolling hills and nice pool...only in Virginia!
Later in the day we hung out by a different kind of pool, (teeming with enthusiastic children) and ate some really good BBQ. I even had seconds! We called it a night fairly early and skipped the fireworks. Ho hum. So let's face it...we're very boring white, almost-middle age, suburbanite parents. Is anyone still reading this or have you all fallen asleep yet? Hello?
zzzzzzzzzzzz...
