Is he crawling? Um, no. Not even close. I'm at the point where I'm pretty sure it will never happen. Thankfully, I have been told all sorts of stories of about kids who never crawled and turned out okay - great, even. So I'm feeling a bit better about it all. The big news though, is that yesterday we found Charlie standing in his crib. You should have seen our jaws on the floor! For the record, he was pretty proud of himself. A few hours later, Jim lowered the crib mattress. Poor Charlie. Clearly, we need to get on that baby proofing.
So while he is busy NOT learning how to crawl, he has been working on other things. He was clapping for a few days, but quickly abandoned that for pointing. There have been a few "bye bye" waves and we swear, he said cat. He also babbles something pretty darn similar to "kitty cat". While he doesn't actually direct "cat" at the cats, the first time he said it he also happened to be looking at a picture of a cat. Fluke, or genius baby?
Wait...don't answer that.
This is a fun age, you never know what the next day is going to bring!
