Snow: the update

Here are some photos from the big snow of 2009. The final tally - 23" measured in a flat spot on the back deck. Jim spent 3-1/2 hours shoveling our driveway and is still feeling the effects! We would probably still be snowed in if it weren't for the heroic efforts of Jim and our neighbor Andy. VDOT hadn't plowed our street due to an abandoned vehicle on another road leading to ours. So they trudged up the hill, assessed the problem, coordinated it's removal and drove it to a clear street. We woke up the next morning to a plowed road - hallelujah!

I'm glad we have the pictures because this will all be incredibly hard to imagine when we're knee deep in heat and humidity next summer!

The patio set on the back deck...

See the grill?

Footsteps up the hill

The woods behind our house

The steps down from the deck

Fun in the snow

Oops...spoke too soon!
(Don't worry, Charlie happily enjoyed a nice warm bath afterwards)

Your spontaneous visit to the Kimball-Stavros-Chester holiday dinner was as kind a Christmas gift as any we received. Baby Charlie is adorable and he has the complete devotion of his many cousins, grand aunt and uncle. Happy New Year.
