Christmas Tree

There are about a thousand other photos I should be posting before these, but I can't resist sharing. We got our tree up on Sunday evening and pulled out all the boxes of Christmas decorations and doodads. Of course, Charlie loved it all.

He made a beeline for what is affectionately known in our house as "Hip Hop Santa"...a thoughtful if somewhat (ahem) tacky gift from some funny friends who came to visit a few Christmases ago. Hip hop Santa wears an "ipod" around his neck with buttons to push for various non-traditional Christmas favorites. As you might guess, the batteries are starting to wear down and we are growing weary of "Celebrate" and "Jingle Bell Rock". Here is the man himself, getting a hug:

Then, things start to get serious.

Eventually we settled in for some old-fashioned tree trimming. Charlie got to place the first ornament...which came off and went back on about 5 times. Hey, it's fun!
